Associated Press Writer= GENEVA (AP) â A woman was convicted on Wednesday of murdering one of France’s richest men by shooting him four times while he was dressed in a latex suit and tied up in a chair during a sex game.
A 12-member jury at Geneva’s Court of Assizes found former mistress Cecile Brossard guilty of killing her lover Edouard Stern four years ago. Brossard, 40, admitted killing the banker but said it was because he enraged her by suggesting she was a $1 million prostitute.
The jury accepted the prosecutor’s assertion that it was murder, which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The sentence is expected Thursday.
The body of Stern, 50, was found in his penthouse apartment in Geneva in 2005. He was wearing a head-to-toe latex suit and had been shot twice in the head and twice in the body, authorities said.

A former call girl was facing life in prison today after being found guilty of murdering her billionaire lover in cold blood.
Cecile Brossard had admitted shooting French banker Edouard Stern, 50, four times during a sadomasochistic sex session.
The 40-year-old always claimed she had acted in the heat of the moment, telling a court in Geneva: ‘The crime was not a question of money but of the heart.’
But the jury ruled out the crime of passion defence, meaning she could now get 20 years in prison rather than ten.
During a week-long trial, the court had heard Brossard admit to an argument over $1million which Brossard had lent her.

London, June 16 (ANI): Cirque du Soleil creator Guy Laliberti has decided to turn to court in a bid to hit back at allegations that he hosted bacchanalian orgies.
The once-penniless street performer has announced that he intends to file a lawsuit against publishers of an unauthorised biography that claims him to be a bed-hopping scoundrel with an inexhaustible appetite for sex, drugs, and a rock and roll lifestyle.
The move comes after Montreal news magazine Macleans published some of the claims made in the explosive new tome, entitled The Fabulous Story of the Creator of the Cirque du Soleil, reports The Independent.
The book alleges details of some of the parties financed by Laliberti, who apparently provided with millions of dollars of fine food and wine while his assistants invited busloads of prostitutes for the bash.
