Rosenstein points out that it’s often tastefully dressed women 45-years old and older, such as business executives and married women with teenagers, who buy his 5.5-inch Louboutins – probably because they can afford them at $850 a pair. These women are all about wearing statement shoes – that is, sexy heels that turn heads the way luxury sports cars do for some men. And while they cost far less than a V12 engine, shoe collections can be just as loud.
“When we started in 2004, people thought this was really high,” said Rosenstein, holding up a 3-3/4-inch Christian Louboutin pump. “Then, in fall 2005, we got the first almost-five-inch heel with a stacked platform base. Now, people say, ‘That’s so low – I want something higher.’ “
Enter the six-inch stiletto, which comes with multiple stacked platforms at the toe end.
“It really started this summer. They are super-extreme,” Rosenstein said. (Incidentally, stripper shoes can reach eight inches and cost about $40. They’re usually made of synthetic materials and feature shoddy workmanship, hence the cheap price.)

Judge rules gifts given to ex-stripper by wealthy man can’t be taxed
MONTREAL – In a legal showdown against a tax-wary former stripper, it’s the Canada Revenue Agency that’s been caught with its pants down.
The legal saga over $2 million in undeclared revenue began in storybook fashion at Chez Paree — a pricey Montreal strip club patronized over the years by scores of wealthy executives and visiting athletes, including some very prominent hockey Hall of Famers.
Martine Landry was a dancer at the Montreal institution and was particularly popular with one rich, elderly customer who struck up a relationship with her.
He showered her with gifts over the years worth about $2 million: a Corvette, money to buy a BMW, eight fur coats, jewels, a vacation, cash to buy a big downtown bar and get out of the dancing business, and $168,000 in $1,000 bills for a down payment on a house.

The federal taxman has been told to keep his hands off the assets of a former Montreal stripper who benefited from nearly $2-million in cash and luxury gifts from an elderly client.
The ruling was applauded by Montreal sex workers, who say gifts between consenting adults are no business of the state.
A tax judge ruled that the Louis Vuitton luggage, Mercedes Benz rental car, eight fur coats, $6,000 in Birks jewellery and $1.3-million in cash that the wealthy patron bestowed on Martine Landry amounted to a “donation.”

“We’d consider him a very, very generous friend,” said Émilie Laliberté, an outreach worker with the group Stella. “Clients [in strip clubs] can be judges as often as policemen or janitors. Some have more means than others, and not all are so generous.”

Tax man told to keep his hands off stripper’s assets
Thu, 2009-08-20 10:06.
A dancer at a well-known Montreal strip club has won a case against the tax man.
Revenue Canada wanted the woman to pay tax on two-million dollars worth of cash and gifts she received from a client.
The wealthy businessman was a regular at Chez Paree and Martine Landry was one of his favourite performers. Over four years, he gave her nearly two-million dollars worth of stuff, including cash for a house, money to buy her own bar, eight fur coats, jewelry, and two cars, a Corvette and a BMW.
Revenue Canada wanted $400,000 in income tax and penalties but a tax court has ruled that the items and money were gifts, which are exempt from tax.
