At age 14, when Héctor realized he was homosexual, he went through a time of deep anguish, even considering suicide. But he sought help from his school’s psychologist, who, in turn, helped his mother to begin to understand. Héctor also read a lot about homosexuality in an effort to better understand himself, and spent time under the guidance of a wise therapist who told him over and over, “You need to understand that you are normal; you do not need any treatment. It’s society that should be treated.”
Despite the great conflict Héctor’s mother experienced between what she had always been taught and her love for her son, there came a day when she told him she believed it would be best, for his sake, if he moved away from home; that his father and brothers no longer wanted him with the family. She assured Héctor that he would always have her support, and said, “But please promise me something: Never delude yourself with a woman; be honest; and when you become intimate with a man, do so out of love … I beg you … never prostitute yourself.”
Burlesque performers took Montreal by storm last weekend – just don’t call them strippers
Though performers got cheeky during the shows at this year’s Montreal Burlesque Festival, they maintain their art form is all about the tease. Photo by Navneet Pall
There is a common misconception that the striptease in burlesque is another form of red-light entertainment no different than what takes place in a strip club.
…
“The art of burlesque revolves around celebration of women and the audience can see that through the style, the movement and the dancing of the performers. It’s important that the difference between burlesque and stripping at a strip club is preserved,” said James.

While Elicer would feel awkward at a strip club with his girlfriend, going to a burlesque show was different, as the emphasis is on theatricality and the tease, and not sexual attention.

Montreal drivers accidently honk at hookers
Drivers are made to look like they are honking at two hot girls and/or prostitutes who happen to be walking by.
As per request, title changed! A presentation of the Just For Laughs Gags. The funny hidden camera pranks show for the whole family. Juste pour rire les gags, l’émission de caméra cachée la plus comique de la télé!
Seen in 75 countries, Just for Laughs Gags is a hidden camera/reality TV series that is perhaps, the most honest of all reality TV programming. It’s simple: a camera, some clever practical jokes and a few unsuspecting “victims,” and you’ve got a sure-fire recipe for laughter.
The Montreal World Film Festival doesn’t take over the town the way the jazz or Just for Laughs fests do, but it quietly continues to do its own quirky thing 35 years down the road.
The opening weekend of this year’s fest was marked by buzz for a Flemish film and the arrival of a member of one of Hollywood’s most famous families. That neatly sums up the film festival: in Toronto it’s all about the Hollywood stars, but here the excitement is all about a Flemish dramedy centred on three disabled guys in a Spanish brothel and an Israeli drama starring Hollywood auteur John Huston’s son.
In the film Playoff, Danny Huston plays a Tel Aviv basketball coach who shocks many Israelis by agreeing to coach the German national team. His father is The Maltese Falcon director John Huston, his grandfather is Oscar-winning actor Walter Huston and his half-sister is actress Angelica Huston.
Okay, so a blind guy, a guy in a wheelchair and a paraplegic walk/roll into a brothel .
It doesn’t take much to realize that Hasta la Vista!, Geoffrey Enthoven’s fifth feature, is not your average coming-of-age comedy. The Belgian film – translated as Come as You Are for English audiences – will premiere as part of the Montreal World Film Festival’s Official Competition.
The director’s third feature to be shown at the fest (after 2006’s The Only One and 2009’s The Over the Hill Band) tells the story of three disabled young men who live with their parents and dream of taking a road trip down Spain’s wine route to visit a bordello that caters to people in their situation. Then they actually do it.
…
While it’s tough to imagine a film like Hasta la Vista! being made in North America, Enthoven had one less mental barrier to cross given that prostitution is legal in Belgium. That was but a footnote, however, compared to the film’s central taboo of three physically challenged protagonists talking freely about – and ultimately engaging in – sex.
The spokesperson was not able to provide details on why Guay has been returned behind bars. Jean-François Cusson, a spokesperson for Correctional Service Canada, also said he was unable to comment on Guay’s return to a penitentiary.
Information on federal inmates can only be provided under certain circumstances, Cusson said, citing an escape as a situation when it is permissible.
The National Parole Board holds post-release hearings to determine whether an inmate’s release should be officially revoked.
By his own admission, Guay was sexually obsessed from the time he was in his late teens, in particular when he found himself in stressful situations. As an adult, his obsession went from frequent visits to strip bars to hiring escorts on a weekly basis. It turned violent in May 2004 when he began sexually assaulting young women and teenage girls in Laval and St. Jérôme over a period of 14 months.
