In the final days of this election campaign, Jack Laytonâs opponents were left with throwing out a story about his having been to a massage parlour 15 years ago. The Toronto Sun reported that âLayton was found laying naked on a bed by Toronto Police at a suspected Chinatown bawdy house in 1996.â
The Sun didnât name the retired police officer who provided it with its information. Layton was not charged with anything and was quoted in the copâs notes as saying, âI was just getting a shiatsu.â
On Friday, Layton didnât deny getting the massage. He told reporters âabsolutely nothing wrong was done, absolutely no wrongdoing.â
