Montreal Strip Clubs: `Inspiring’ tale tells of Cirque du Soleil founder’s fortune

In one of the earlier chapters of Laliberte’s life, for example, the Quebec City native took his burgeoning circus act to Los Angeles to try to crack the U. S. market.
But he had no gas money to get back to Quebec if his gamble didn’t pay off.
“They would have all had to walk back to Montreal,” Halperin said. “And that’s the kind of risks he took. This is not a get-rich-quick story.”
One of two excerpts from the book published this week by L’Actualite magazine do go into intimate detail about the post-Formula One parties Laliberte used to host at his Montreal-area mansion.
According to Halperin, from vast quantities of illicit drugs to strippers and prostitutes, Laliberte would not miss a detail or spare any expense to please his most discerning guests, who included George Harrison and Robert De Niro.
